The Distillery District is a National Historic Site with a remarkable past, located east of Central Toronto. Its beginnings are connected with the opening of the Gooderham and Worts Distillery in the second quarter of the 19th century. It eventually became the prime distillery in Commonwealth, covering about 13 acres and turning out millions of gallons of distilled whiskey and spirits during the Victorian era. Right after being closed, the location was converted one of the most used filming sites in the country of Canada and keeps on being utilized for that purpose. In the early 2000s a local company purchased the acreage hoping to maintain its historical integrity while also offering a wonderful new spot to the people who live in Toronto and also to visitors. The location was unveiled in 2003 as an amazing car-free village. The neighbourhood is regarded to be one of the Canada’s premier entertainment, culture and arts destinations – a place overflowing with inspiration and wonderful artistic people.
